Roadshow DBL: The Road to Victory

(Jakarta, 8/8/23) The DBL Roadshow in St Ursula Senior High School has sparked excitement and anticipation in Gelora Genta as the tournament dates approach.The event took place in the school’s Ursula Auditorium and really riled up Gelora Genta with the lineup of events. Starting with a few words from the school principal, Mr. Mardi, as well as our student council president, Angie, followed by games, dance and basketball team introductions, ending with a talk show about personal branding with beauty influencer, Maysha Juan.The basketball team showed vivid enthusiasm towards the upcoming competition. “My hopes for this year’s DBL is that we can make it to the championships, of course, and that Gelora Genta can win first place for the supporters,” said last year’s women’s DBL record breaker, Kim. All of the team members after her second her hopes and aspirations for both the basketball team and Gelora Genta.

After the basketball team’s introduction, Gelora Genta was greeted by St. Ursula Senior High School’s dance team, RBS. They started themselves off the same way the basketball team did and continued to share about their practice experiences. “We’ve practiced for less than a month and we’d usually do it 3 times a week. However, last week we practiced every single day for 3 whole hours,” said Sasi, the RBS captain. “I hope that the basketball team will be able to give their best and keep their fighting spirit no matter what. Whether we win or lose, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.” After the Roadshow event, this year’s DBL manager for St. Ursula Senior High also got the chance to voice his hopes for the school this DBL season.“Whatever happens, the most important thing is that we keep our fighting spirit strong until the end,” ended Mr. Ben.
